14.08.2012: According to a new report from Pike Research, nearly 232 GW of renewable distributed energy generation (RDEG) capacity will be installed worldwide over the next five years. The vast majority of this distributed generation capacity – 210 GW – will be photovoltaic (PV) due to falling module costs and rising production. Pike Research reports that worldwide PV module production capacity reached an estimated 50 GW at the end of 2011, while module costs dropped from roughly $4.00 per watt in 2006 to $1.00 per watt in 2011. According to the report, Europe will continue to be the largest market for RDEG during the 2012–2017 period. However, the Asia Pacific RDEG market will grow the fastest over the next five years. … Source: Pike Research; Summary: PHOTON http://www.pikeresearch.com/research/renewable-distributed-energy-gene ration http://www.pikeresearch.com/newsroom/annual-renewable-distributed-ener gy-generation-installations-will-nearly-triple-by-2017 |
