New York to invest $107 million in large-scale PV projects over the next 2 years

13.08.2012: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the newly established NY-Sun Competitive PV Program will distribute $107 million over the next two years to support the deployment of photovoltaic (PV) systems greater than 50 kW in size. Through the program – open to large commercial, industrial and municipal customers across New York City and upstate New York – the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will distribute $36.4 million in 2012 and $70.5 million in 2013. All projects will require co-funding, with state funding capped at $3 million per project. Proposals under the first round of the NY-Sun Competitive PV Program are due November 8 with the remaining two due dates for the program in the first and third quarters of 2013. The NY-Sun Competitive PV Program is an expansion of the NY-Sun Initiative, a two-year old program that previously focused on large PV systems in New York City, Westchester County and the lower Hudson Valley. NYSERDA has also expanded its small-scale solar PV program (less than 50 kW) under the NY-Sun Initiative. Monthly funding under the program has increased from $2 million to $3.5 million for the remainder of 2012 and will continue at $3.1 million per month in 2013. … Source: Governor Andrew Cuomo; Summary: PHOTON
