8.02.2016: California had reached a cumulative PV capacity of 9.97 GW as of the end of November 2015, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). The agency said that California was able to cover 5% of its electricity demand in 2014 with large-scale solar plants and that utility-scale PV installations have in the state a a higher share (68%) than the national average of 60%. Arizona was the second state with the largest solar capacity in the US thanks to 2,103 MW of installed PV systems. New Jersey (1,235 MW), North Carolina (1,070 MW) and Nevada (1,010) had also reached the 1 GW milestone at the end of November 2015. © PHOTON
