Conergy reduces losses despite revenue decline

There is capacity destruction and red ink in almost every panel producer in the world this quarter. Expect price declines to slow considerably.

 

 

15.05.2012: German solar module maker Conergy AG narrowed its net loss in the first quarter of 2012 despite a considerable drop in revenue. Revenue in the most recent quarter amounted to €98 million ($126 million), compared to €163 million in the first quarter of 2011. Meanwhile, net loss fell to €15 million from a loss of €22 million in the first quarter of last year. Conergy attributed the reduced net loss to the company's strategic realignment as a system supplier and the restructuring measures it implemented in 2011. The company is cautiously optimistic about the second quarter after a relatively strong start; however, Conergy expects sales for 2012 to be lower year-on-year.
