Recurrent commissions 50 MW in Northern California

25.05.2012: US solar project developer Recurrent Energy Inc. said that three of its photovoltaic (PV) projects in Sacramento County, California – representing 50 MW of solar capacity – have achieved commercial operation. Recurrent, a subsidiary of Japanese electronics company Sharp Corp., is selling the power from the three projects to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) under a 20-year feed-in tariff. SMUD pays an annual average of 10¢ per kWh for projects coming online in 2012 under 20-year contracts. The company said a fourth project in the same area is expected to come online later this year. In December, Recurrent announced that it sold its entire 88 MW portfolio of PV projects contracted with SMUD to Google Inc. and Kohlbert Kravis Roberts & Co. LP. … Source: Recurrent Energy Inc.; Summary: PHOTON
