09.04.2015: The combinantion of rooftop PV sytems with storage systems could provide the majority of customers’ electricity in the US over the next years, according to the report » The Economics of Load Defection,« published by the Rocky Mountain Institute. According to the study, this combination will soon become cost competitive with traditional retail electric service. In particular, the report stresses that new customers will find solar-plus-battery systems most economic in three of our five geographies within the next 10–15 years. The Rocky Mountain Institute notes that load defection from the grid could have a large magnitude, if customer adoption will follow optimal economics © PHOTON
