Volume Panel Leaders, now all Chinese, vie with each other for top position

Trina was the largest module maker in 2014, GlobalData

20.02.2015: Chinese solar manufacturer Trina Solar Limited was the single largest producer of PV modules globally in 2014 based on annual production of 3.5 GW, according to UK-based market research firm GlobalData. The company was able to cover 7.9% of global production and to overtake Yingli Green Energy, which was the market leader in 2013 and 2012. Furthermore, GlobalData reports that global crystalline solar production grew from 33 GW in 2013 to 44 GW last year. JinkoSolar, Canadian Solar and JA Solar were the third, fourth and fifth largest world solar manufacturers, respectively. »Trina Solar – said Sameer Joshi, director of research and analysis for power and alternative energy at GlobalData - was able to surpass Yingli’s module production by around 150 MW in 2014, despite the latter’s increase in production.« © PHOTON
