Most of Top Donors' Money Goes to Electric Monopoly Question
The state's three largest political donors from Jan. 1 through June 8 directed most, if not all, of their money to one side or the other of the question on eliminating NV Energy's monopoly that will be on the ballot this November.
NV Energy, the largest donor, has donated $12.8 million, mostly to the Coalition to Defeat Question 3. Data center operator Switch, the second largest donor, has given much of its $11.3 million to groups supporting Question 3, and billionaire Sheldon Adelson and Las Vegas Sands have given more than $9 million of their $9.5 million in donations to supporting Question 3.
