Q-Cells says its North America subsidiaries are not affected by parent company's insolvency

11.04.2012: A spokesperson for Q.Cells North America told PHOTON that the North American subsidiaries of troubled German solar cell producer Q-Cells SE have not been affected by Q-Cells’ insolvency and are operating as normal. According to the company, Q.Cells North America and Q.Cells Canada Corp. are currently developing more than 100 MW of projects, all of which are scheduled to be completed in 2012. Q.Cells North America issued the following statement: “The North American subsidiaries are legally separate and economically independent entities from Q-Cells SE... North America is a market with enormous potential and the subsidiaries are looking forward to further developing it in the coming years.” Q-Cells SE started insolvency proceedings earlier this month after a Frankfurt court ruled that the company could not go through with its proposed restructuring plan. … Source: Q-Cells North America, PHOTON; Summary: PHOTON
