23.04.2012: Citing an article published by Nikkei business daily, Reuters reports that Japan’s new feed-in-tariff (FIT) scheme will likely have a tariff of ¥42 yen (51¢) per kWh when the program launches in July. The ¥42 rate, which has yet to be approved by Japan's Trade Minister Yukio Edano, would include tax and would be effective for roughly 20 years, generally in line with what the solar industry has asked.
