First they take a contingent strategy position by buying into a piece of sunpower. This move signals that these fossil boys now consider renewables to be fully strategic and central to their future. More of these oil and monopoly electricity giants will follow and their plans will be to be dominant players in their home markets and each others'. This will create lots of opportunities for companies like ours that can feed their machines and accelerate their penetration.
Not all of these.big incumbents will be dominant in renewables, but of the companies that end up dominant, most of them will have started as big incumbents.
