Sonnedix breaks ground on 60 MW PV plant in Puerto Rico
7.03.2016: Puerto Rico’s Governor Alejandro García Padilla announced that Oriana Energy LLC, a unit of Dutch independent power producer Sonnedix Solar, has started construction on a 60 MW PV plant in Puerto Rico, according to Prensa Latina. The Oriana Energy project is a 60 MW DC ground-mounted PV facility that will be located in the Municipality of Isabela and will be divided in two phases. The plant will sell its electricity to the Puerto Rican Electricity Authority (PREPA) under 20-year PPA. The project is one of three PV projects the company plans is developing in Puerto Rico. The other two projects are a 12 MW (DC) power plant in the town of Salinas and a roughly 20 MW solar park in Yarbucoa. All three projects will sell their output to the PREPA.
