Chile all-in project valuation of $1.25/watt supplied by Jinko

Jinko supplies 40 MW of modules for Chilean project

21.08.2014: Chinese solar manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. announced it will provide Chilean solar developer 8i SA with 40 MW of modules for a PV plant the company is developing in the Valparaiso region of central Chile. Jinko will begin supplying the 131,150 JinkoSolar 305 Poly 72 PV modules for the project in the fourth quarter of this year. According to the proposal submitted to Chilean environmental authorities, 8i SA’s Ravsoe solar project would require an investment of $50 million and would rely on 148,000 crystalline silicon modules installed on 6,617 solar trackers. Completion of the project, located in the municipality of Puchuncavi, was originally scheduled for January 2015. However, according to Jinko, the project is now scheduled to be completed in July 2015. The financial terms of the supply agreement were not disclosed. In early May, Jinko signed another two module supply contracts for Chilean PV projects totaling 100 MW. Jinko will supply modules for the 60 MW Lalackama project and for an unnamed 40 MW project, both of which will be located in northern Chile’s Atacama Desert. The financial terms of the supply agreements were not disclosed, nor were details about when the modules would be delivered. © PHOTON
