On March 5, 2014, the OPA posted the draft rules for the Aboriginal Transmission Fund (ATF) for comment. The comment period will be open until April 18, 2014. In addition to submitting feedback via email or telephone, First Nation and Métis community representatives and interested stakeholders are invited to participate in engagement meetings to provide their comments in person.
The ATF will provide funding support to eligible First Nation and Métis communities that are exploring equity positions in the development of new, major transmission lines where the OPA has identified a need for transmission capacity (as detailed in Ontario’s updated Long-Term Energy Plan, Achieving Balance).
The OPA is hosting two meetings where participants will learn more about the ATF draft rules and can contribute their comments.
