First Solar inaugurates German plant, delays Vietnam plant |
03.11.2011: Thin-film module manufacturer First Solar, Inc. inaugurated its second manufacturing plant in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. The new €170 million plant will manufacture 250 MW of photovoltaic modules per year, doubling First Solar's annual production capacity in Germany to 500 MW. In a separate announcement, First Solar revealed that it will postpone the commissioning of its Vietnam factory until global demand for solar modules improves.
