Costa Rica makes it easier to install a PV system under net-metering scheme

23.08.2015: Costa Rica’s Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications (MINAE) will submit to public consultation a proposal to modify the net-metering scheme for PV installations within two weeks. Local newspaper El Financiero reports that, under the new legislation, homeowners and enterprises interested in installing a PV system under the scheme will not have to require an authorization to local authority Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (ARESEP). According to Costa Rica’s government, the new scheme will support the development of residential and commercial PV segments in the country. Costa Rica introduced a net-metering scheme for PV in April. © PHOTON
