07.05.2015: Swiss independent power producer Etrion Corp. recorded a slight increase in revenue and profits in the first quarter of 2015. Etrion achieved revenue of $10.4 million in the quarter, up from $8.4 million in the same period of 2014. All of the company’s revenue currently comes from the 17 Italian PV plants totaling 60 MW and the Salvador 70 MW PV plant in Chile, which is owned 70% by Etrion. Etrion was also able to reduce its net loss from $8.2 million in the first quarter of 2014 to $2.5 million in the latest quarter. According to the company, this result was mainly due to better solar irradiation and spot market pricing in Italy compared to 2014. In a separate development, Etrion announced that its has signed a PPA for the Salvador 70 MW PV plant with Chilean power provider Empresa Eléctrica ERNC-1. Etrion developed the $200 million PV project with SunPower parent company Total SA and local solar developer Solventus Energias Renovable. The project is also owned 20% by Total, which is Sunpower’s largest shareholder, and 10% by Solventus. © PHOTON |
