| 10.10.2014: Panama’s grid operator Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica SA (ETESA) announced that the country’s first solar energy auction will be held on Nov. 25, 2014, a month later than originally scheduled. ETESA did not say why the auction has been pushed back from Oct. 16. PV projects selected through the auction will have to start delivering electricity to the grid by Jan. 1, 2017. Local energy providers Chiriquí, Metro Oeste and Elektra Norte will buy the electricity output from the PV plants under 20-year PPAs.
