SunPower release fourth quarter earnings

16.02.2012: US solar cell and module manufacturer SunPower Corp., which is majority-owned by French oil company Total SA, reported a net loss of $83.1 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011, a significant drop from a profit of $152.3 million in the last quarter of 2010. For fiscal year 2011, SunPower achieved a GAAP net loss of $603.9 million, compared to a net gain of $178.7 million in 2010. Revenue for the quarter reached $563.4 million, while revenue for the year topped $2.3 billion. SunPower said it expects to achieve revenue of $2.6 billion to $3.0 billion next year, and it hopes to break even or post a profit.
