IEA predicts a bright future for solar technologies

01.12.2011: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released a new book entitled Solar Energy Perspectives that provides data and analyses on solar energy technologies, market trends, integration issues and solar energy policy. The book suggests that solar energy could become competitive with other energy sources in the next twenty years. Last week, the IEA released a book about renewable energy aimed at policy makers. Deploying Renewables 2011: Best and Future Policy Practice provides guidance on how countries can successfully deploy renewable energy and includes analysis of renewable energy support policies and market trends from all over the world. According to Bloomberg Businessweek, a new IEA report says that solar energy technologies could provide a third of the world’s energy needs by 2060 if governments act to limit climate change. … Source: International Energy Agency, Bloomberg; Summary: PHOTON
