The new federal budget proposal is dangerous, reckless, and insulting to New York values. It should be rejected out of hand.

It leaves behind the most vulnerable New Yorkers among us, and puts our environment, our infrastructure, and our future at risk. To those who can't afford heat in the dead of winter, those struggling to provide an education for their child, and to commuters forced to sit through hours of traffic on a daily commute, this budget sends a clear message: You have been forgotten.

But here in New York we will never abandon our principles. We will not allow a federal government to provide tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans on the backs of hardworking New York families.

This proposed budget takes a wrecking ball to federal funding that provides crucial support and relief to New Yorkers.
