A survey of PV researchers and manufacturers conducted by Keithley Instruments shows a global industrywide focus on improving device efficiencies as the top development priority, weighed as substantially more important than reducing manufacturing costs.
Sixtron touts ARCs to prevent mc-Si cell degradation
The "Silexium" antireflective coatings outperform traditional silane-based SiNx coatings in limiting light-induced degradation (LID), which can reduce module efficiencies in the field by up to 5%, according to the company.
SVTC: Five solar customers moving out of design phase
Each of its customers has produced both planar and 3D cell designs in SVTC's facilities, aided by the group's know-how in semiconductor and MEMS devices.
Avancis touts NREL-tested "record" efficiency for CIS modules
German thin-film solar PV developer Avancis says tests with the US' National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) show its 30x30cm encapsulated CIS solar modules achieve 15.1% aperture-area efficiency.
