Gateway Energy Storage LLC, a unit of LS Power Development LLC, seeks an order from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission directing San Diego Gas & Electric Co. to provide transmission and grid-connection services for delivering the output of its 250-megawatt battery storage system onto the state grid. Gateway requested approval so that the battery facility, under development in San Diego, can achieve its expected commercial operation date in January 2020. SDGE is a subsidiary of Sempra Energy.
