Elecnor goes to Brazil

22.06.2015: Spanish industrial group Elecnor has resumed its plan for the construction of a solar module manufacturing facility in Brazil. According to Spanish financial newspaper El Economista, the company is currently in negotiations with the governments of different Brazilian states in order to identify the location for the project. El Economista reports that the factory would have an annual capacity of 150 MW and that the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) could support the project with unspecified financial concessions. In late 2012, the governor of the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos, met with representatives of Elecnor to discuss building a PV module factory and a 30 MW PV power plant in the state. At the time, Elecnor did not say if the module factory would manufacture PV modules or just assemble them. No time frame for either project was given. © PHOTON
