A proposed bill in New Jersey could give the region's already-thriving
solar power market a shot in the arm, which would expedite several solar
projects in counties and towns, prevent job cuts and government debt,
supporters of the law say.

According to the North Jersey Record, the law also has its critics, who say
the bill is more of a bailout for solar companies. However, proponents
contend that several potential projects around the state, which add up to
about $250 million, could soon become more attractive if the bill passes.

Supporters of the law say it will be instrumental in further developing the
state's nascent solar industry. According to the media outlet, New Jersey is
the second-fastest growing solar producing-state in the country, however
projects that are underway or in the early stages have begun to stall as the
state's solar credits market has slipped into decline.

According to the New Jersey Daily Record, the state's Clean Energy Program
has helped to boost the state's entrepreneurial spirit, in turn driving more
innovation in the solar sector.
