Brazil to promote local solar industry

16.03.2012: During a recent workshop aimed at promoting the Brazilian photovoltaics (PV) industry, the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) said the government expects to release its plan for developing the country’s renewable energy sector in April. The plan is expected to introduce solar incentives, initiatives and targets that would encourage a homegrown solar industry. At the moment, the Brazilian solar energy industry is still relatively small, with Tecnometal Equipamentos Ltda. being the main producer.
