SEIA calls on US Senators to support and extension of the 1603 Treasury Program

07.03.2012: Within the next few days, the US Senate will vote on extending the 1603 Treasury Program as part of the MAP-21 transportation bill (S. 1813). According to the US Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow has offered an amendment to the bill that would extend the 1603 program, which gives commercial solar investors a cash grant in lieu of the 30 percent solar investment tax credit (ITC). According to SEIA, an extension of the program would create tens of thousands of new jobs and would support the deployment of more clean energy installations across the US. SEIA has launched a campaign calling on senators to vote for the amendment. … Source: Solar Energy Industries Association; Summary: PHOTON
