BSR 2011: Al Gore Says Short-Term Thinking Is 'Functionally Insane' | GreenBiz.com

Even though this comes from Gore, who has never worked an honest day in his life, I can speak from hard experience that investor expectations of quarter over quarter growth (no matter what) drive public companies to irrational decisions. And tying exec pay to share price as the primary metric adds fuel to that short-term fire.

The ability to take the long view is one of China’s greatest strengths.
